March 23rd is our time to dance! HOT FRUIT is a dance party that is QTBIPOC centred. This is an event for us to sweat and hold community.
Not really into dancing? Have to work early? From 9-10:30 we’ll be having a more relaxed community space for drawing, talking, and singing along. This venue is unique in that as the party continues, there is a second space for conversation and resting as the night continues! Lower energy? Talk and sip. Higher energy? Get some cardio on the dancefloor. MangoSweet are here to help you sway and move all night!
This space is intended to be QTBIPOC centred, so we can celebrate and exist in a fun and welcoming party. All are welcome to join, but if you are not BIPOC we are asking you to consider who this space is for and how you can contribute to a healthy, safe environment that centres the QTBIPOC community.
Hot Fruit takes place on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional homelands of the Musqueam, Skxwú7mesh, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. As a community event, we organize and seek out intersectional, nuanced, and engaged ways to be in solidarity with Indigenous communities of whose lands we work, resist, and play on. We are grateful to be here even though we are guests on this land.

VOLUNTEERS:
We are looking for volunteers to mind the door and to be a party buddy. We have gift baskets for volunteers.
ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, this space is not accessible. The venue is on the second floor and there are more than a dozen stairs up. MangoSweet is hoping to hold an event in a more accessible space in the future.
There is only one bathroom, it is quite narrow.
This is a scent reduced space. Please refrain from wearing fragrances. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a space that is 100% scent free.
